Prior to MSNBC, Browne was at News 12 Long Island, Cablevision's 24-hour cable news channel covering Nassau and Suffolk counties in NY.
She co-anchored the station's highest-rated show - its 3-hour morning news program.
Browne first joined News 12 as a general assignment reporter, covering major stories such as the 1993 World Trade Center bombing.
Browne also hosted Reporter Roundtable, News 12's weekly half-hour news talk show. Browne received praise for her live coverage from the scene of the Long Island Railroad massacre, and for her un-scripted anchoring of the crash of TWA Flight 800.
